Hi guys,

Ive ran accross some issue after installed the Chillifire firmware for my Dir615, the wireless light is not turning on, and when performing wireless network searches with laptops is not detecting the AP aswell. What could be possible causing this? Is there a setting needed to be change in the router after instaleld the new firmware?

Ive attempted to revert back to the dlink original firmware, and i can see the wireless light came back on, and can detect the AP with my laptops.

There is no additional setting required.

The wifi LED has been turned off by the OpenWrt firmware our firmware is based upon. This was done by the programmers of OpenWrt do avoid performance issues caused by the LED controller (hi CPU usage). This does not mean the wifi is not functional though.

We have identified a potential issue in the firmware that can cause issues with network and httpd webserver start up on this router. This issue may have affected your router. We have fixed this in the latest firmware release 10.02.1.

Please download the latest firmware for the DIR615c from our forum page and reflash your router.

Thats what I though, and I saw a user in the forum has the similar issue to my dir615 after flashed with the Chillifire firmware. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=778

I've re-flashed the firmware probs 10times... Im glad theres a new firmware. Hope this might fix it! Will keep you updated.

I think theres a few issue with the new firmware; unable to change the timezone, cant adjust dbm for the router.

The timezone settings have since been fixed for this model.

Signal strength can certainly be set in the Administration screens and the router is reacting to the settings. The dbm figures need to be entered numerical only without the unit of measure. Then press 'Save and apply and the dbm will adjust.

We expect to be in a position to offer better support and other ar71xx chip set based routers soon, in particular offer better wireless N support using the ath9k driver which can take full advantage of the router's wireless N features. This better support will come in the 10.3 release of OpenWrt on which our firmware is based upon; the 8.09.02 we are currently supporting allows the router to be usable, but may not always leverage all the wireless N features optimally.
